How to delete your Budgy account
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This page explains how to delete your account on Budgy, the personal finance app by TRIERIA BRASIL LTDA, and what happens to your data when you do.
Deletion is permanent: once it is done, we cannot recover your account or your data.
In the app
In the Android app or in the browser, deletion is immediate:
- Tap the circle with your initial, then Settings.
- Open the Integrations tab and scroll to the bottom of the screen, where the “Danger zone” is.
- Tap “Delete account”.
- Confirm with your password. If your account has no password (for example, if you always signed in with Google), type your email.
- Tap “Delete forever”.
If your account has no password and you signed in more than 10 minutes ago, Budgy asks you to sign in again, to make sure it is you. Tap “Sign in again” and repeat the steps.
If you have a paid plan, cancel the subscription first, in Settings › Plan: deleting the account does not cancel the subscription at Mercado Pago.
If you own a household where someone else lives, transfer ownership to another person in Settings › Household before deleting the account.
Without the app
You do not need to install the app again. There are two ways:
- Go to budgy.online in your browser, sign in with the “Log in” button and follow the same steps.
- Or write to contato@budgy.online from your account’s email address, with the subject “Delete my account”. If you write from another address, we will ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We carry out the deletion and reply within 15 days.
What we delete
When you delete your account, we immediately delete:
- Your identification and contact data: name, email, password, the link to Google, your photo, your WhatsApp number and your tax ID.
- Your profile (year of birth, gender, income range and the other optional answers) and your preferences.
- What is yours alone: accounts, cards, statements, installments, transactions, budgets and goals.
- All your consórcio quotas, including the ones you shared.
- What Budgy learned from you to categorize: your keywords, your rules and their history.
- The record of the statements you imported. PDF files are never stored.
- The comments you sent with the feedback button, with their screenshots.
- Open sessions, your IOL and Binance credentials and your advisory links, both with whoever advises you and with whoever you advise.
- If nobody else lived with you in your Budgy household, the household name. Invitations to that household that have not been accepted yet are withdrawn.
AI connector connections and keys and public API tokens are revoked: they stop working immediately. After that, nobody can sign in to your account or use it through an integration.
What we keep and for how long
| What | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| What you shared with people who are still on Budgy: household accounts, cards, budgets and goals, the transactions made in them and the expenses of expense groups. | They are also part of the other person’s history. “Deleted user” appears instead of your name, but in expense groups the other people still see the name and email you were added with. | As long as the other person keeps their account. |
| An internal number in place of your account, with no name, email, ID document or way to sign in. | So that the shared history still makes sense. | No time limit. On its own, that number does not identify you. |
| Payment records, if you subscribed to a paid plan: amount, date and payment code. | Tax obligations. | For the period required by tax law. |
| Access records: IP address, date and time you used Budgy, and support access to your account. | Brazil’s Marco Civil da Internet (Law No. 12.965/2014, art. 15) requires us to keep them. | At least 6 months, as the law requires. |
| Database backups. | To restore the service if something fails. | Up to 30 days. After that, they are deleted automatically. |
| Other records linked to that internal number, such as the AI connector history. | We do not delete them on account deletion yet: we are working on it. | For now, no time limit. |
| Technical logs from our servers and our network, at our providers (Railway and Cloudflare). | Diagnostics and security. | We can see them for up to 31 days. Each provider may keep them longer, under its own rules. |
Other services
- If you imported PDFs, Anthropic, which reads their text for Budgy, deletes that text within 30 days, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
- If you had a paid plan, Mercado Pago keeps the payment data under its own rules.
- If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Budgy’s access in your Google Account, at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- If you linked WhatsApp, the link to your number is deleted, and what you write to Budgy on WhatsApp no longer reaches any account. The conversation stays in your WhatsApp, where you can delete it.
If you only want to delete some data
You do not need to delete your account. In the app, you can delete transactions, accounts, cards, budgets and goals one by one; unlink WhatsApp in Settings › Security; disconnect IOL and Binance in Settings › Integrations; and end sessions in Settings › Sessions. For any other request, write to contato@budgy.online.
